  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Paleo

Description

A delightful side dish featuring roasted Brussels sprouts and crispy bacon drizzled with a sweet maple bourbon glaze, perfect for any festive gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1.5 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for subtle heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until fully coated.
  3. Spread the sprouts evenly on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the chopped bacon over the Brussels sprouts.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until both the sprouts and bacon are golden and crisp.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the maple syrup, bourbon, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder. Simmer for 4-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Once the Brussels sprouts and bacon are done, drizzle the warm glaze over the hot veggies. Toss gently to combine and serve immediately.

Notes

For a bacon alternative, use turkey bacon or a plant-based version. Serve with freshly chopped parsley for presentation.
