Description

Ingredients

  • 24 rectangular buttery crackers (such as Club or Ritz)
  • 8 slices of bacon, cut into thirds
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Arrange the crackers in a single layer on the wire rack.
  3. Place one piece of bacon on each cracker.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  5. Brush or spoon the maple-brown sugar mixture over each bacon-topped cracker generously.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the topping is bubbling and caramelized.
  7. Allow the crackers to cool for 5 minutes on the rack before serving.
