- 24 rectangular buttery crackers (such as Club or Ritz)
- 8 slices of bacon, cut into thirds
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and place a wire rack on top.
- Arrange the crackers in a single layer on the wire rack.
- Place one piece of bacon on each cracker.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Brush or spoon the maple-brown sugar mixture over each bacon-topped cracker generously.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the bacon is crisp and the topping is bubbling and caramelized.
- Allow the crackers to cool for 5 minutes on the rack before serving.
