- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) packed light brown sugar
- ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2¼ cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter with brown and granulated sugars until smooth. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually stir this mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the dough.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top with your hands or a spatula.
- Bake for 28–32 minutes until the top is lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean or with moist crumbs.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. Optional: Chill the dough for enhanced flavor and texture.
