Description

A creamy, cheesy chicken casserole that is a family favorite, perfect for weeknight dinners or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup crushed crackers or breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  3. Spread half of the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken mixture.
  5. Add the remaining chicken mixture on top and sprinkle the rest of the cheddar cheese over it.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed crackers or breadcrumbs with melted butter, then layer that mixture on top of the casserole.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

For best texture, use rotisserie chicken; try adding diced vegetables for added nutrition. Experiment with different toppings.
