  • Total Time: 60 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Carnivore

Description

A delicious and elegantly seasoned roast beef tenderloin perfect for special occasions and family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 to 3 pounds beef tenderloin, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce to create a flavorful marinade.
  3. Generously rub the marinade all over the beef tenderloin. Allow it to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  4. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat and sear the beef on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Pour beef broth into the skillet around the tenderloin and transfer it to the preheated oven.
  6. Roast for 25-30 minutes, reaching an internal temperature of 135°F for medium-rare.
  7. Remove from the oven and let the beef rest under aluminum foil for 10-15 minutes before slicing.
  8. Slice the tenderloin and serve drizzled with pan juices.

Notes

For added flavor, consider dry-aging the beef for a day or two before cooking. Perfectly searing the meat is essential for a nice crust.
