Succulent chicken breasts enveloped in a rich, garlicky butter sauce with hints of lemon and spices, perfect for family dinners or impressing guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika (smoked or sweet)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for searing)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for spice tolerance)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (plus extra for garnish)
- 1 tsp fresh dill, chopped (optional)
- Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or water for a lighter option)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Stir in Dijon mustard and red pepper flakes, allowing the mixture to cook briefly.
- Add parsley and dill (if using), stirring to combine.
- Pour in chicken broth and lemon juice, letting it simmer for a few minutes.
- Slowly stir in heavy cream and mix until fully incorporated.
- Return the seared chicken to the skillet, allowing it to soak in the delicious sauce for a few minutes.
- Plate the chicken, drizzle with sauce, and garnish with extra parsley.
Notes
For a lighter sauce, swap heavy cream for half and half or use vegetable broth for a vegetarian version.
