Description

A comforting and flavorful casserole made with shredded chicken, creamy ingredients, and a crunchy topping, perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 ½ teaspoons hot sauce, such as Tabasco® or to taste
  • 1 sleeve buttery crackers, such as Ritz® crackers, crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, green onions, almonds, bacon, and hot sauce.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the crushed crackers with melted butter and spread over the chicken mixture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  6. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For added crunch, mix some extra slivered almonds into the topping. Use leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
