- 500g all-purpose flour
- 350g water
- 100g active sourdough starter
- 10g salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and water. Stir until there are no dry bits remaining. Let this mixture rest for 30 minutes.
- Add the sourdough starter and salt, then knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl and place it in a warm spot to rise for 4-6 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Gently shape the dough into a round loaf and place it into a floured proofing basket. Let it rest for another 1-2 hours.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a Dutch oven inside for 30 minutes.
- Transfer the dough into the hot Dutch oven, cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Use an active starter and a warm environment for the best results. Avoid refrigeration to keep the bread fresh.
