Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons coarse sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast (or instant yeast)
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (around 110 degrees F)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sea salt, and yeast. Stir.
- Pour warm water into the dry ingredients and mix with a wooden spoon until fully combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 3-4 hours, or in the refrigerator for up to 15 hours.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
- Place the dough on parchment paper and cover lightly with plastic wrap for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F with a Dutch oven or cast iron pot inside.
- Remove the plastic wrap and lift the parchment paper and dough into the preheated pot. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
Notes
Store bread in an open paper bag at room temperature for up to a week. Avoid plastic bags to maintain crustiness.
