Description

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and yeast together until evenly combined.
  2. Pour in the warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms—there’s no need to over-mix!
  3. Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and set it aside at room temperature for 12 to 18 hours.
  4. When ready, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  5. Flour your work surface and gently turn the dough out, shaping it into a rough ball. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, cover it, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Once baked, remove bread and let it cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store at room temperature in a paper bag for 2-3 days. For longer storage, wrap tightly and freeze for up to three months.
