- 4 cups milk (whole milk recommended)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (freshly grated if possible)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
- Add the milk gradually to the egg mixture, whisking until fully incorporated.
- Pour the mixture into custard cups or a baking dish.
- Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
- Place the filled cups or pan into a larger baking dish and add hot water halfway up the sides.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.
- Let the custard cool before serving.

Serve warm or chilled, garnished with whipped cream and fresh berries for an extra touch.
