One-Pan Cheeseburger Pie Dinner

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Omnivore

Description

A comforting and easy one-pan dinner that captures the flavors of a classic cheeseburger.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef with chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Whisk together milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Stir in the ketchup and mustard into the beef mixture.
  5. Transfer the beef mixture into a greased pie dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the beef.
  7. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For an extra kick, consider adding chopped jalapeños to the beef mixture. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for a day before baking.
