- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Brown the ground beef with chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Whisk together milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Stir in the ketchup and mustard into the beef mixture.
- Transfer the beef mixture into a greased pie dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the beef.
- Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the pie cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an extra kick, consider adding chopped jalapeños to the beef mixture. Can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for a day before baking.
