Description

A delightful Overnight Croissant Breakfast Casserole that effortlessly combines croissants with a savory egg mixture, perfect for brunches and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large croissants (torn into pieces)
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup cooked ham or cooked sausage (diced)
  • 1/4 cup green onions (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and thoroughly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
  2. Place the torn croissant pieces into the greased baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and vanilla extract (if using).
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the croissants, gently pressing them down to ensure absorption.
  5. Evenly sprinkle the diced ham or sausage, shredded cheese, and chopped green onions over the top.
  6. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator overnight.
  7. The next morning, remove the plastic wrap and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
  8. Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For better texture, use day-old croissants. You can customize the filling with different cheeses or proteins.
