 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

 - 1 cup heavy cream

 - 2 tablespoons butter
 - Salt and pepper to taste
 
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
 - Add the diced onion and minced garlic, then sauté until translucent.
 - Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux.
 - Slowly whisk in the broth while stirring to avoid lumps.
 - Add the chopped broccoli and simmer for about 10 minutes until tender.
 - Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and cheddar cheese until melted.
 - Season with salt and pepper to taste.
 - Serve hot with crusty bread for dipping.

Use fresh broccoli for the best flavor. For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
