  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to 1-inch thickness)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (preferably freshly grated)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter (divided)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (for the sauce)
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper (for the sauce)

Instructions

  1. Pound your chicken breasts to an even 1-inch thickness for uniform cooking.
  2. In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a separate bowl, mix together the grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Press into the Parmesan mixture, ensuring the chicken is well-coated.
  4. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of butter. Cook the chicken for 5–7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Add the heavy cream, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon some of the creamy sauce over the top, and let it simmer for an additional minute.
  8. Plate the chicken and drizzle with extra sauce before serving.

Notes

Serve with fresh arugula salad or roasted vegetables. Can substitute gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
