- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to 1-inch thickness)
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (preferably freshly grated)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup butter (divided)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (for the sauce)
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper (for the sauce)
Instructions
- Pound your chicken breasts to an even 1-inch thickness for uniform cooking.
- In one bowl, place the all-purpose flour. In a separate bowl, mix together the grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Press into the Parmesan mixture, ensuring the chicken is well-coated.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup of butter. Cook the chicken for 5–7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the heavy cream, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon some of the creamy sauce over the top, and let it simmer for an additional minute.
- Plate the chicken and drizzle with extra sauce before serving.
Notes
Serve with fresh arugula salad or roasted vegetables. Can substitute gluten-free flour for a gluten-free option.
