Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, softened butter, and brown sugar until crumbly; press into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt until well combined.
  4. Stir in chopped pecans and pour the mixture over the crust.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the filling is set.
  6. Let cool completely before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

For a different flavor, substitute pecans with walnuts. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for an elevated dessert.
