Description
A quick and easy one-pan meal that captures the essence of a classic Philly cheesesteak, combining tender steak, colorful vegetables, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb steak (flank or sirloin, thinly sliced)
- 1 bell pepper (sliced)
- 1 onion (sliced)
- 2 cups mushrooms (sliced)
- 2 cups spinach (or other leafy greens)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (such as provolone or cheddar)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Begin by heating olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the thinly sliced steak to the skillet and cook it until browned, which takes about 3-4 minutes.
- Once browned, push the steak to one side of the skillet.
- Introduce the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the pan. Sauté these until they’re tender, approximately 5-7 minutes.
- Stir the cooked steak back into the vegetable mixture.
- Take the fresh spinach and toss it in, cooking until just wilted.
- Season the entire dish with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top and cover the skillet with a lid until the cheese melts.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
Marinating the steak beforehand can enhance the flavor. Experiment with different cheeses for variety.
