Description

A comforting blend of ground meat and potatoes, seasoned with aromatic spices for a hearty meal.


Ingredients

  • 500g ground meat (beef, lamb, or chicken)
  • 2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 23 green chilies, slit
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 23 tablespoons oil
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  2. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, cooking for another minute.
  4. Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  5. Mix in chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes soften.
  6. Add cubed potatoes and enough water to cover everything. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  7. Stir in garam masala, taste, and adjust the seasoning. Cook for a few more minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.

Notes

Best served with rice or naan. Optionally pair with a side salad or yogurt-based raita for a fuller meal.
