Description

Delightful little pancakes made with creamy quark and heart-healthy oats, perfect for breakfast or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 250 g Magerquark (or low-fat quark)
  • 100 g rolled oats (Haferflocken)
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Cinnamon (to taste)
  • Oil or butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine Magerquark, eggs, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the rolled oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients until you have a smooth batter.
  4. Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil or butter.
  5. Drop small portions of the batter into the pan using a tablespoon. Cook each side for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Once cooked, place the Quark Coins on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil and serve warm.

Notes

Add toppings like fresh fruit or yogurt for variations. Can be frozen for up to a month.
