Description

A delightful and nutritious treat that combines the protein of quark with the fiber of oats, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 250 g Magerquark (low-fat quark)
  • 100 g Haferflocken (oat flakes)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 50 g honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Ground cinnamon (to taste)
  • Oil or butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the Magerquark, eggs, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. In another bowl, blend the oats, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients with the quark mixture and stir until you have a homogeneous dough.
  4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil or butter.
  5. Use a tablespoon to portion out the dough, placing small dollops in the skillet.
  6. Cook each coin for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they turn golden brown.
  7. Once cooked, let them drain on a paper towel and serve warm.

Notes

These quark coins can be served with fresh fruits, yogurt, nuts, or salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
