- 12 cocktail rolls or slider buns
- 300 g (10 oz) roasted beef, thinly sliced
- 6 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese (halved)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
- 1 teaspoon mustard (optional)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease or line a baking dish.
- Slice the cocktail rolls in half horizontally without separating.
- Spread mayonnaise and mustard inside the rolls if using, then layer roasted beef and cheese.
- Close the rolls and arrange them snugly in the baking dish.
- Mix melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley in a small bowl.
- Brush the butter mixture over the rolls and sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 12 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 8 minutes until golden and cheese is melted.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then pull apart and serve warm.
Notes
Use thin-sliced deli roast beef for easy layering and cover with foil to keep the rolls soft. Avoid overbaking to prevent drying out. Caramelized onions can be added for extra flavor.
