- 500g bread flour
- 400ml water (room temperature)
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- 60ml olive oil
- Toppings: rosemary, sea salt, cherry tomatoes, or any favorite herbs
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the bread flour, salt, and yeast.
- Gradually add in the water and olive oil, mixing until you have a sticky dough.
- Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (430°F).
- Once the dough has risen, press it into a greased baking pan, dimple the surface, and add chosen toppings.
- Allow the dough to rest for another 20 minutes before baking.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve.
Notes
For best texture, rise dough in a warm place. This focaccia is versatile; experiment with toppings!
