  • 1 cup milk (whole or low-fat)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • 4 slices of bread (optional)
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables (optional: bell peppers, onions, or spinach)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage until fully cooked. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. If using bread, cut it into cubes and layer the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the bread, then sprinkle in the chopped vegetables if using.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and bread, ensuring everything is well coated.
  7. Top with shredded cheese.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the egg is set and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
