Description
A comforting and flavorful sausage stuffing that’s perfect for holiday gatherings and family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sausage (pork, chicken, or turkey)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 10 cups bread cubes (stale bread works great)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned. Remove it from the pan and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter, onion, and celery. Sauté until the onion and celery are soft.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, sage, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in the chicken broth gradually, stirring until the mixture is moist but not soggy.
- Transfer the stuffing mixture to a greased baking dish. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. Can be frozen for longer storage. Add a little chicken broth when reheating to keep it moist.
