Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions with a pinch of salt, cooking until they’re caramelized and golden brown (approximately 20-25 minutes).
- Stir in the balsamic vinegar and let it cook down for another 2-3 minutes.
- Combine Gruyère cheese and cream cheese in a mixing bowl until well mixed.
- Fold the caramelized onions into the cheese mixture ensuring even distribution.
- Spread the mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until it’s bubbly and golden on top.
- Garnish with fresh thyme before serving, if desired.
Notes
