Description

A comforting dessert with a rich and creamy texture, this baked custard is simple to prepare and brings warmth to any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground nutmeg for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, beat the eggs until well blended.
  3. Add sugar, salt, and milk to the eggs and mix well.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.
  7. Place the baking dish in a larger pan filled with water (water bath).
  8. Bake for about 45 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Serve plain, with whipped cream, fresh fruits, or drizzled sauce for added flavor. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
