- 2 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup whole milk

- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Prepare your bundt pan or a 10-inch tube pan by greasing and flouring it well.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, alternating between both. Start and end with the flour. Mix on low speed until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in the vanilla and almond extract for a flavor boost.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the oven for 75-85 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk (or cream), and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth. Once the cake has cooled, drizzle the glaze all over it.
