Description

A hearty and savory dish combining ground beef with a tangy sauce, served in toasted hamburger buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onions and green bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 4–5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well.
  4. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Lightly toast the hamburger buns.
  6. Serve the meat mixture over the toasted buns.

Notes

For a leaner option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Consider adding chili powder or paprika for an extra kick.
