Description

A comforting and budget-friendly Slow Cooker Green Bean Casserole that combines creamy goodness with crispy fried onions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cans (14.5 oz each) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup vegetable stock
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or whole milk
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 oz can of fried onions (divided)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In your slow cooker, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup, vegetable stock, heavy cream (or milk), minced garlic, butter, flour, Worcestershire sauce, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix well until combined.
  2. Gently stir in the drained green beans and half of the fried onions until well coated.
  3. Cover the slow cooker and set it to high. Cook for 2 to 2.5 hours.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top for extra crunch.

Notes

Feel free to swap heavy cream for whole milk for a lighter option. For a healthier version, use low-sodium soup or stock.
