Description
A classic comfort dish that balances creamy textures with crispy toppings, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- Green beans (fresh or canned)
- Cream of mushroom soup
- Milk
- Salt and pepper
- French fried onions
- Cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In your slow cooker, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is well mixed.
- If you’re using cheddar cheese, fold it into the mixture at this stage.
- Sprinkle the top with French fried onions for that delicious crunch.
- Cover and set to cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours.
- For a crispy topping, transfer the casserole to an oven-safe dish and broil for just a few minutes until golden brown.
Notes
For added flavor, sauté onions and garlic before mixing them in. For a lighter version, omit cheese and consider using a different cream soup.
