Description
Delicious and fluffy soft pretzel bites that are easy to make and perfect for snacking during movie nights or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Coarse salt, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Activate the yeast: In a bowl, mix warm water, active dry yeast, and brown sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- Combine ingredients: In a larger mixing bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually combine this with the yeast mixture and melted butter until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for approximately 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven: While the dough rises, preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Shape the bites: Once risen, divide the dough into small pieces and roll them into bite-sized balls.
- Prepare for boiling: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a pot, bring water to a boil and add some baking soda.
- Boil the pretzel bites: Carefully place the dough balls into the boiling water for about 30 seconds, then return them to the baking sheet.
- Butter and salt: Brush with melted butter and generously sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, until they are golden brown. Enjoy warm!
