- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until the ingredients just come together to form a smooth batter.
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter for easy lifting later.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the batter for a sweet surprise with every bite.
- In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) and sprinkle it evenly over the bananas.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
