Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Pour in the melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until the ingredients just come together to form a smooth batter.
  4. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or butter for easy lifting later.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Arrange the sliced bananas on top of the batter for a sweet surprise with every bite.
  7. In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and nutmeg (if using) and sprinkle it evenly over the bananas.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
