- 4 large sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Layer the sweet potatoes in a large baking dish.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, water, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt, bringing to a simmer.
- Pour the glaze over the sweet potatoes, making sure every slice is well coated.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue to bake for another 15-20 minutes until the sweet potatoes are tender and the glaze is bubbly.
