Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups peaches (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix the peaches, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Allow this mixture to sit so the flavors meld together.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and salt until smooth and free of lumps.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish, making sure to spread it evenly.
- Carefully pour the batter over the peaches, ensuring the batter covers them as evenly as possible.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
