  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: None

Description

A quick and satisfying stir-fry bowl packed with spicy ground beef, colorful garlic veggies, and fluffy rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for the beef)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
  • 1/2 zucchini, sliced
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (for the veggies)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for the veggies)
  • 1 cup steamed white rice

Instructions

  1. Prepare all your vegetables: wash, chop, and set them aside. Mince the garlic for both the beef and veggies, and measure out all your sauces and seasonings.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil and the minced garlic for the beef. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until it’s browned, crumbling it into small pieces.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Let it simmer for 3–4 minutes until it thickens slightly, then remove from heat.
  5. In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for the veggies for another 30 seconds.
  6. Toss in the mushrooms and cook for around 2 minutes until they soften.
  7. Add broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  8. Drizzle the veggies with soy sauce, tossing to combine.
  9. Serve hot by spooning the steamed rice into bowls, topping with the beef and vegetable mix. Drizzle any extra sauce over the top.

Notes

For better presentation, garnish with sesame seeds or green onions. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
