Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cloves garlic (for veggies), minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
- 1/2 zucchini, sliced
- 1/2 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce (for veggies)
- 1 cup steamed white rice
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Toss in ground beef, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Cook until browned.
- Stir in soy sauce, chili flakes, and brown sugar. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
- In a separate pan, heat olive oil and add minced garlic, cooking for another 30 seconds.
- Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes.
- Incorporate broccoli, zucchini, and red bell pepper. Stir-fry for 4-5 minutes until veggies are tender-crisp.
- Pour in soy sauce and toss everything together until evenly coated.
- Serve hot steamed rice in bowls, arranging beef and veggies on top or alongside. Drizzle with extra sauce if desired.
Notes
For a creative twist, add pineapple for sweetness or use quinoa instead of rice. Adjust heat levels by modifying chili flakes.
