Description

A comforting Italian dish featuring pasta shells filled with a creamy ricotta and spinach mixture, topped with marinara sauce and melted cheese.


Ingredients

  • 20 large pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen spinach (squeezed dry if using frozen)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  4. Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the stuffed shells in the dish and cover them with the remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For extra creaminess, add cream cheese to the filling or sprinkle fresh basil on top before serving.
