A comforting classic, this homemade Chai Tea Latte combines rich chai flavors, creamy textures, and hints of sweetness for a cozy beverage.
Ingredients

- 1 cup water
- 2 chai tea bags
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (plus more for garnish)
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (plus more for garnish)
- 1–2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup milk (whole or 2% recommended)
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup half and half
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
- Add 2 chai tea bags and let them steep for about 5 minutes.
- Stir in 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg to the tea.
- Mix in 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or honey, based on your sweetness preference.
- In another saucepan, combine 1 cup of milk and 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream. Heat until warm (do not boil).
- Pour the milk mixture into the chai concentrate and stir well.
- For an extra hint of sweetness, add 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey and a pinch of sea salt.
- Pour into your favorite mug, garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg, and enjoy!
Notes
For non-dairy options, use almond or oat milk instead of regular milk. For creamier texture, froth the milk before adding.
