Description

A creamy and savory appetizer that’s perfect for any gathering, combining mushrooms with cream cheese and mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme or parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté for about 8-10 minutes until they’re well browned and tender.
  2. Toss in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  3. Reduce the heat to low. Add the softened cream cheese and sour cream to the skillet. Stir until everything is melted and fully combined.
  4. Stir in half of the shredded mozzarella and the grated Parmesan. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the top. Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 375°F. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme or parsley. Serve hot with bread, crackers, or crunchy vegetable sticks.
