Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce (18 oz)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, and mustard powder until fully combined.
  2. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the chicken in a single layer in the crockpot.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, or until tender.
  6. Shred the chicken with two forks and return it to the sauce, stirring to combine.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken overnight in the sauce. You can also add smoked paprika for a smoky touch.
