Description
Tandoori chicken combines Indian spices with grilling techniques resulting in tender, flavorful meat, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 lime (juiced)
- 3/4 teaspoon table salt
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 (7-ounce) container plain Greek yogurt
- 5 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne
Instructions
- Rub the chicken with salt, pepper, and lime juice in a mixing bowl. Let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt with minced garlic, ginger, cumin, paprika, turmeric, and cayenne until well combined.
- Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring the pieces are well coated. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for anywhere from 6 hours to a full day.
- When ready to cook, preheat your broiler or oven to 450°F (high).
- Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Place the marinated chicken on the lined sheet without overlapping.
- Broil the chicken for approximately 15-20 minutes until the top is dry with some charred edges.
- Turn the chicken pieces over and continue broiling for another 10 minutes or until fully cooked through.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, swap Greek yogurt with coconut yogurt. Adjust the cayenne for spice levels according to your preference.
