Description

Soft, fluffy Texas Roadhouse Rolls, perfect as a starter or a complement to any meal, served with irresistible cinnamon honey butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon warm water (105-115°F)
  • 6 tablespoons granulated sugar (divided)
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm, 105-115°F)
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted, divided)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the warmed milk, melted butter (save some for later), salt, egg, and the remaining sugar.
  3. Gradually add bread flour, then the yeast mixture until combined to form a soft dough.
  4. On a floured surface, knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place them in a greased baking dish.
  6. Cover the dish with a towel and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. While rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Brush the tops with melted butter and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, honey, confectioners’ sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  10. Enjoy warm with the cinnamon honey butter!

Notes
