- 1 loaf of bread, cubed (day-old bread works great!)
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth (use low-sodium for a healthier option)
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sage, dried
- 1 teaspoon rosemary, dried
- 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add diced celery and onion, sautéing until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually pour in the broth, stirring until the bread is evenly moistened.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is crispy and golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
