Description

A comforting melt featuring seasoned ground beef and gooey cheese sandwiched between buttery toasted bread.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread
  • Butter for toasting

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened and fragrant.
  3. Toss in the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper while browning.
  4. Once the beef is cooked through, remove it from the heat and add the shredded cheese. Stir until melted and well combined.
  5. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  6. Place one slice of bread butter-side down in the skillet. Spoon in the beef and cheese mixture, then top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.
  7. Cook until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is gooey, then slice and serve hot.

Notes

Serve with a simple salad or crispy fries. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
