  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Light, fluffy, and perfectly golden vanilla French beignets, dusted with powdered sugar for a delightful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  2. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in the milk and vanilla extract until well blended.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry each beignet for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown on both sides.
  6. Once cooked, remove the beignets and let them drain on a paper towel. Finally, dust them generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best served hot and fresh; pair with warm chocolate sauce or whipped cream for an indulgent treat.
