Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 30g of caster or granulated sugar
  • 2 heaped teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 4 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Dairy-free milk (for brushing)
  • Vegan caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Toss with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut into squares.
  4. Place apple slices in the center of each pastry square and fold over, sealing edges.
  5. Brush the tops with dairy-free milk.
  6. Bake on a lined tray for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly before serving, drizzling with additional vegan caramel if desired.

Notes

For a twist, add chopped nuts to the filling or try different apple varieties.
