Description
A delightful twist on a traditional fruit dish, these Air Fryer Apple Fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, perfect for snack time or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Prep the apples: Peel (if desired) and cut the apples into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- Set up coating stations: In Bowl 1, add the flour. In Bowl 2, whisk together the egg and milk. In Bowl 3, mix the panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Coat the apple sticks: Dredge each apple stick in the flour, dip them into the egg mixture, and then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Air fry: Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick cooking spray. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to work in batches).
- Cook: Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7-9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking until they are golden and crispy.
- Enjoy: Serve warm with delicious dips like caramel sauce, yogurt, or whipped cream.
Notes
For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
