- 1 cup applesauce
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together applesauce, sugar, and vegetable oil. Add eggs and mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract or nuts like walnuts or pecans.
