Description
A crispy, sweet, and savory side dish that brings out the natural sweetness of Brussels sprouts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Set the oven to 400°F (200°C). If you wish, line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts, remove any outer leaves that are wilted or discolored, and slice the sprouts in half.
- In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Coat the Brussels sprouts in the glaze until evenly covered.
- Spread the sprouts cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until caramelized and golden brown.
- Transfer to a serving dish, drizzle with extra glaze if desired, and serve hot.
Notes
For added crunch, serve with toasted almonds or pecans. Great served with roasted meats or as a vegan dish with grains.
