- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, alternating with the milk until just incorporated.
- Fold in diced apples and raisins, if using.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan, smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake! Place in the oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with custard sauce, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
